​Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, Chennai, established in the year 1995 by MJF.Ln.Leo Muthu, Founder of Sapthagiri Educational Trust, is a non-profitable and non-minority institution. The college is affiliated to Anna University and also approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The College is functioning at Sai Leo Nagar in a sprawling campus of 300 acres near the well-known fascinating Theme Park, "Kishkinta". Sri Sai Ram Engineering College has developed into a reputed engineering Institution with ISO: 9001:2008 certifications and most of our Engineering Programs and Master Programs got accredited by the National Board of Accreditation
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is a specialized branch of engineering which primarily focuses on the measurement and control of instruments used in the design and configuration of automated systems. The department was started in the year 2007 with an intake of 60 students and the intake was increased to 120 students from the academic year 2009-2010 onwards. Currently there are 24 faculty members with more than 320 students. The faculty members are involved in carrying out the research in the area of Process Control & Instrumentation, Medical Electronics, Power Electronics, Applied Electronics, VLSI design, Image processing. Department has well established laboratories with good infrastructure and state of the art instruments.
Role of EIE Engineers
The main focus of E&I engineers will be in the field of Control systems design, Process control and instrumentation, Electronics design and manufacturing, Engineering research and development, sales and service of technical equipment, Project and technology management etc.,
The challenges involved in studying Instrumentation Engineering (such as problem solving, having a design focus utilizing technology to benefit society, etc) and skills (such as project management, communication, technical, analytical, team membership, leadership skills etc) needed to perform the job as Instrumentation Engineer.
